Segment  1

Segment Limits

Segment 1 is the shortest segment, but is the most populated.  It includes everything from the most downstream outlet (Outlet #1) upstream to County Highway 1 Bridge.

Segment 1 also includes both outlets into Otter Tail Lake.

To identify specific issues in Segment 1 and facilitate segment ownership, Segment 1 has been broken into 2 Sub-Segments.

Sub-Segment 1a

Main River Channel from Outlet #1 to Outlet #2 (~ 5400 LF)
Outlet #1 (~ 100 LF)

Sub-Segment 1b

Main River Channel for Outlet #2 to CH 1 Bridge (~ 2200 LF)
Outlet #2 (~ 100 LF)

Properties

There are 76, (911) addresses in Segment 1.  39 of which are in Segment 1a and 37 are in Segment 1b.

Primary Issues

OTRM members have identified three primary issues in Segment 1 limits:

1. In Sub-Segment 1A, sedimentary deposits in Outlet #1 does not allow boat navigation into Otter Tail Lake from the Otter Tail River or vice versa.

2. In Sub-Segment 1a, vegetation growth is excessive.  It does not allow for navigation in the majority of the river alignment from Outlet #1 to Outlet #2.

3. In Sub-Segment 1b, sedimentary deposits in Outlet #2 does not allow boat navigation into Otter Tail Lake from the Otter Tail River or vice versa.
